Description

Every March, more than 20,000 sandhill cranes stop at the Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge during their migration north. This spectacular event is the centerpiece of the Monte Vista Crane Festival, March 7-9. 

We will load up a GARNA van at 5:30 am on Saturday, March 8 and head down in time to witness the breathtaking morning flight from 7-9am. Then we'll head back to Monte Vista to the Ski Hi Complex headquarter for a variety of talks and the craft fair.
Participants are on their own for additional workshops and tours hosted by the Festival. Those sell out fast, so book at https://mvcranefest.org/festival/.  

We'll load up the van and head back to Salida around 2. 

To reserve your spot on the van, cost is $8.00 for GARNA members and $10.00 for non-members to help cover gas. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
